DIALOGUE SAMPLE

BEGIN FLASHBACK:

INT. CONCERT HALL DRESSING ROOM - NIGHT

Ruby is standing outside Max's dressing room.

SUPER: LONDON 1964

She unintentionally overhears an argument between Max and Sherrie.

MAX

(angry)

Mum, stop it. You are encouraging the girls to squeal like pigs being slaughtered. And I can't even hear myself singing, $@*&% it!

SHERRIE

As long as THEY hear you, there is no problem!

Sherrie exits dressing room, slamming the door. She totally ignores Ruby and walks away.

Ruby enters without knocking. Max assumes his mother has returned.

MAX

Leave me the fuck alone, will you?!

RUBY

What a bad boy!

He turns around and sees Ruby. He is smitten.

MAX

Yup, I'm a real scoundrel.

RUBY

Too bad you're not a psychopath, I'd ask you to get rid of MY mother.

MAX

If I were, I'd already be an orphan.

Max is dazzled by her beauty and liveliness. She is a stunning young woman. He is wildly attracted to her.

RUBY

I'm Ruby Fawley from Musical Express, which by chance belongs to my Uncle Archibald. I've got it easy, as they say.

MAX

Oh! And now you want your very first interview?

RUBY

Maybe one day, if you become, like, really famous.

MAX

When that day comes, I won't need to do any stinking interview. They will all bow and kiss my ass!

RUBY

Perfect! If you show me your ass, I guarantee you a front-page story. My photographer is never far away.

MAX

Ah! I get it … You're a part-time groupie that does full-time journalism.

RUBY

Aw! Just as I was about to write nice things about you…

MAX

Please don't. That would hurt my reputation.

(he laughs)

Come along! I'll buy you a drink, I'll show you I'm a real bad boy.

RUBY

I sense we're going to have a lot of fun.
